A Many Splendored Thing

gaymentwins.jpg

Eric Ethington, left, and spouse Doug Okun hold their twin 3-1/2 month old daughters Sophia Rose and Elizabeth Ruby, respectively, as Okun reads the Ketubah, a marriage contract from their commitment ceremony in 2000, at their home in San Francisco, Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004. Before a civil servant pronounced them 'spouses for life' on Feb. 13, Okun, 38, and Ethington, 37, already considered themselves married, as the two men had been together eight years and had recently become fathers. Dammit, this is a threat to the sanctity of marriage!

Not that they're both guys, but rather the color of their walls. Total ick. No two people who think baby puke green makes for good decor should have a legally recognized union.

I like that wall color! Of course, I'm an evil kitten-drowner from Texas so what do I know.

Eric and Doug have splendid taste in baby names. Such cute little behbehs they have.

Oh yeah, those two absolutely shouldn't be able to get married while Britney Spears is free to get drunk, married and divorced within 24 hours. Gahhhhhh.

I agree about the adorable names and general cuteness of their wee little behbehs.

You know, actually living in San Francisco and knowing many gay couples, I have a pretty damn strong opinion about this, and it's pictures like that lovely one above that make me want to smack the president upside the head.

My ex-boss and his partner have been together for almost 13 years and have two fantastic children together. I dare ANYONE to look at that relationship and tell me it's not a "marriage."

I was at a cafe near City Hall last week and all these happy couples kept coming in to have cake and coffee and celebrate with their friends. I am so so so so so proud of our Gavin Newsom for taking a stand, and I don't know many people here in SF who aren't.

And yes, Teemy, thos are gorgeous names.
