Hell Is For Children

HEY YOU.

Yes, YOU. The person reading this. I may or may not know who you are. But here's the thing - I am in work HELL right now. I'm serious. I'm ... very stressed. Yes. There is very little joy in my life at the moment, in addition to very little time for social activities such as updating this site.

This is where you come in. Do me a favor? Post a comment to this entry. Anything, I don't care. Something funny, something poignant ... something I never knew about you (if I know you), or an introduction if I don't.

I need something that will help me get my mind off of work during those rare minutes when I'm not frantically trying to fix something that's messed up. I'll be working all weekend (bleh); I need you to give me the will to go on.

So if anything I've ever posted has amused, entertained, or otherwise held meaning for you, be a sport and return the kindness just this once. My sanity thanks you.

Look at this -- I'm the first one to respond to this. It makes me feel "special" or something.

Anyway, something you don't know about me? Well, you should know I have a long list of jobs I want to have in my life (look back on my blog to the taxi driver entry--that's one of them). Yesterday, I found a new job to add to that...baggage handler at the airport. They have a cool job title of "ground operations" depending on the airline.

Well that's that. I hope your day gets better if possible. I'll give you a holler tonight and see if you're in any different mood. We're pulling in today! Ye-yah!

Hi. You don't know me. I am one of the many people to have found your site while searching for Low Millions' "Eleanor" lyrics. I've read several of your entries; they often make me laugh out loud. I also appreciate the MP3s you post.

I hope your day gets better.

Hmmm. Well, the guys at jibjab.com always make me laugh. Maybe that will help.

I can tell you that I love your site and love the mp3s. I can also sympathize with working all weekend, since I'm also working all weekend- tonight, tomorrow all day, Sunday morning from 5:45 AM to either noon or 1, and then Monday and Tuesday too. Which is very many days in a row for retail. So I feel your pain.

A comment you want, then a comment you get! Remember that you'll eventually get some time off... for good behavior. Maybe. Yeah, I know, I'm such an uplifting person.

You don't know me, but I've been a fan of your blog for several years. Loved your recaps on Hamster Time and was excited to start reading your journal. I think one of my favorite "storylines" was the whole saga with the guy you met at the makeupcounter. You are a witty, clever, talented and insightful writer and your site is one of my favorites. Eagerly anticipating your insights on the latest group of houseguests.

Appreciate the music.

You seem to need an audio recharge.

Start with Me works for me.

One of my legs is longer than the other and I just run around in circles all day.

A few weeks ago you posted Rainbow Connection. That song always cheers me up.

Hi heewig! On my way home today on my scooter I ran into the ass end of a bee! The stinger got me twice, then the bee lodged itself under my right boob. I had to keep driving until I found a safe place to pull over and rip off my clothes on the side of the road. Hopefully your day is going better than that!

Hi Heewig! You're pretty! *mwah*

Back in the late 70's I was a fanatical Scientologist, not unlike Tom Cruise, but without the millions. I was not a good one, however, and as punishment I had to sell Diantetics books door to door. Some weeks my take-home pay was $40 for over 40 hours of work. I once tried to escape from the Wash D.C. Org.

Stress, it is with us to the ends of our days.

I appreciate you, your blog, and in particular everything you do to keep the hamster cage turning.

Posted by: lifeonhold at June 27, 2005 01:45 PM

Life, were you REALLY a Scientologist? Because you have to regale me with stories if you were.

When I was in high school I delivered gorillagrams part-time. I miss that job.

It *will* get better. In the meantime, you may visualize me tap-dancing for your amusement. Badly. Picture me falling on my head a few times.

Hmmm.. let's see. I worked at Spencer's Gifts after high school, and was the "ear piercing master". When new hires needed training, I was the one to do it. You either learned on a teddy bear, or on me. So, I have 7 holes in my left ear, and 3 in my right. Yes, I'm lopsided, but I had to draw the line somewhere. Of course, I got the line permanently tattooed on years later, but that's another story entirely.

Know how some people have problems all their lives with their earring holes closing up all the time on them? Not me. They're all still functional. And I only wear two. Now I just look like a firing range.

And that, my friends, is the rest of the story.

Smile heewee. We love you. And it's almost Hamster Time!
