This is the front and back of a very cool coin that my very wonderful friend Eric sent me from the USS Ronald Reagan (an aircraft carrier, in case you didn't know). I cannot stop playing with it. It's kinda weighty, and about the diameter of the opening of a can of soda. The detail on it is really quite impressive.

I don't know what kind of fighter planes are pictured on it. Mayhap Eric will let me know.

Google is my friend!

What aircraft will be on the RONALD REAGAN?
RONALD REAGAN's Air Wing consists of the standard mix of aircraft, you can expect to see: F/A-18 Hornets, S-3B Vikings, EA-6B Prowlers, E-2C Hawkeyes, C-2A Greyhounds, SH-60 Sea Hawk, and Helicopters

The one flying from the deck is certainly an F-18 E/F (the Superhornet). It appears to be a tanker version (used for in-flight refueling) since it has a bunch of drop tanks underneath it. Most of the planes on the deck also appear to be F--18's with the exception of the ones on the far left side (below the island) which are EA-6B's. We don't have any S-3's anymore which were used for anti-submarine warfare (replaced with a version of the H-60) and refueling.

Glad you like your coin!

Aren't there rules to military coins?

Marcel

Yes, the coin rules state that anyone who asks me for my coin has to buy me a drink, regardless of whether or not I have my coin. And then they have to give me a massage.

Marcel, the virus is still attacking your mail system - I responded to your test message, but my reply bounced back to me.
