Turn, Turn, Turn

I haven't travelled anywhere since my roadtrip through Arizona and New Mexico a year ago, so I think it might be time to get the heck out of Florida for a long weekend. What I'd really like to see is some fall color, since there are only two colors of leaves where I live - green, then brown (and on the ground).

I'm thinking that the last week of October or first week of November might be a good time to get away, but I'm pretty sure it's past peak season in New England for this sort of thing, so I'm not sure what other options are available.

Ninja Car

I'm in love with my caaaar...
Gotta feel for my auto-mo-bile...

Look at it. Isn't it pretty?

Click it. It gets bigger.

That is my new ninja car, a 2007 Saturn Aura. I bought it on Saturday (Terri's birthday!) and I love it beyond all measure. It's my new boyfriend.

To bust out with the biggest cliché ever - it's a sweet ride.

I got the XE base model with the preferred package (8-way power adjustable driver's seat, heated outside mirrors, wheel-mounted stereo controls) and tinted windows. The stereo controls on the wheel are awesome - I was pretty sure I'd like them (I got the package mostly for the heated mirrors; they're invaluable), but they are so, so convenient.

The stereo does that weird thing where it adjusts the volume based on outside noise, but I'm probably going to turn the option off, because it's messing with my head.

From the front and back:

Yesterday when I was taking photos I noticed something so freakin' cool. In my L200 I was always somehow pushing the driver's side floor mat up underneath the brake/gas pedal. It was, how do they say? ANNOYING.

When I was taking photos of the Aura's interior I noticed a black circle in front of the driver's seat on the floor. After a brief freakout that I had already marred the carpet, I more closely inspected things and saw this:

There is a HOOK on the FLOOR that attaches to a GROMMET on the MAT which HOLDS THE MAT IN PLACE!!1one

Coolest! car! ever!

*hugs ninja car*

Ninja Kitty

Satchel ees sooooooo cute. He's five months old now and has grown into his big lollipop kittenhead a bit.

I'm a bit concerned that he's going to be a runt, though. Maybe he has a Napolean complex and that is why he torments Caygeon so much?

Satchel wants to tell you something (112 MB) (right click to save to your computer)

When Satchy stands with his legs together, the fur on his back legs forms an inkblot:

Ahoy, Mateys!

I seriously just spent two hours clearing off all the frickin' spam comments. Dirty rotten spammers - may they be tormented in perpetuity!

I've been busy for the last ... how long has it been? A long time. I've been busy but I'm going to rededicate myself to capturing my life and all the random things in it for posterity.

I also hope to wheedle out some time to take photos again.

But anyway, how have you been? I've been fairly well; things are going nicely in my life if I do say so myself.

I'm still in love.
I'm still torturing myself at the gym.
Satchel is still amazingly cute (and has a new nickname).

And my newest idiosyncrisy is that I am no longer eating processed foods (for the most part ... I still eat salad dressings and stuff like that, but I've sworn off frozen dinners and fat free bologna).

We'll see how long that lasts, though.

One last thing - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mamé!!
